Tell us about yourself

I was born in Japan and raised in China. I came to the United States when I was 11. I am a FSU graduate and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Medical Sciences. I am hoping to go to medical school in the near future. I love being in front of the camera so I have been wanting to do modeling as a part time job since I was a child.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have not auditioned for modeling in the past because I have always put school first. At the time, I felt that I would not be able to balance school and modeling. But I can not wait to see the opportunities this would bring me!

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become a forensic psychiatrist and work for the FBI.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Growing up in the United States as a foreigner was difficult because I felt like I didn’t belong. The American beauty standards are still different from the Aian beauty standards to this day. But I learned that I am the most beautiful when I am genuinely happy. I do not believe the word “beautiful” should have a specific image to represent it. As long as a person is happy and confident, they are beautiful in their own way.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Living in South Florida limits my fashion choices due to the extremely hot weather all year round. However, I feel that I lean towards the Boho- Chic style.

Who or what inspires you?

I do not have a specific person that inspires me but whenever I meet someone that has experienced hardships and overcame them, I think to myself , “I can do it too”.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Have fun with it! I think it is very important to enjoy what you are doing.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I was bullied for years when I first came to the United States. The experience was quite unpleasant and made me a stronger person. It also made me realize that I wanted to work in the field of mental health to help others that may have experienced similar experiences.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My features are different from other people’s and I have grown to love that about myself. It makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

You are the only person that is paying that much attention to you. No one else is paying that much attention to you and picking out your flaws. Chin up.
