Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I am 19 years old and grew up in the Austin area. I compete in martial arts and am attending Texas Tech University for my Master's degree in environmental engineering.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have very little experience, but I grew up both in front of and behind the camera whenever I was practicing or competing in sports or educational extracurricular activities.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to one day be able to directly help provide safe air and water for people to use all around the world. I just want others to be happy and healthy.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

This is something that I have contemplated quite a bit. I grew up quite self-conscious since I was much bulkier than my classmates due to martial arts training and was told that I would never be wanted by boys. I also suffered early on from cystic acne, which dragged down my self-love. I believe being your own kind of beautiful means using your differences to your advantage and not letting anyone stop you from being who you are.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would describe it as comfortable and casual most of the time. If I am training, I enjoy some soft running shorts and an oversized t-shirt, but recently I've found a love for more professional styles such as dresses or suits.

Who or what inspires you?

My dad is my greatest inspiration. He grew up in a military household and ended up in the Navy, where he served for 6 years before going to college and marrying my mom. He has always been the kindest soul and supportive in every way possible. His kindness and tender-heartedness inspires and reminds me to never give up, even when people are not the kindest.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Don't listen to people who say you're not unique enough. I was told that my hazel eyes, muscular legs, and broad shoulders were undesirable, but I still persevered. There are plenty of mother agencies out there, find one that suits you and your morals. Don't settle for less.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I am hypermobile and get injuries quite often, but when I had a concussion my sophomore year of high school that left me blind for several hours, I had never felt so alone. I see the world around me in such bright colors and never take my sight for granted. I grew up taller and more muscular than most of my peers, even the guys, and people would make fun of me for it. However, I have learned throughout the years that being tall and healthy is the best thing that has happened to me.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think kindness and my hazel eyes make me beautiful. I teach children how to swim and every day I am kind, gentle, and respectful of their boundaries while still making progress in their ability to safely participate in swimming classes.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would say to find one thing about yourself that you love (hair color, eyes, hands, smile, etc) and focus on that. Accentuate that feature and then slowly add another feature whenever you're ready. Confidence doesn't come overnight, it takes practice. Find a friend who struggles with you and learn how to bring each other and yourselves up together.
