Tell us about yourself
I was born in Russia and was adopted when I was 3 years old from an America couple. My brother was also adopted with me. I currently live in Maryland. I started my early years with ballet and preforming on stage. I have always loved to own the spotlight. Now I am 18 years old and I have dreams I want to follow.
Tell us about your modeling experience
So far, my modeling experience has been joining my high school modeling club. It’s not just modeling, but it is a place to feel confident and make more friends. Everyone there cheers everyone on and we all have a great time.
What is your biggest dream?
I have a few big dreams which is to walk in New York Fashion Week, eventually walk for designer brands like Versace, Chanel and Prada, I want to be on the cover of Vogue, and I want my best friend to be on a cover magazine with me.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful means to be everything that makes you feel alive in this world. Something that brings out the best of yourself, something that makes you feel like you stand out from the crowd. That something can be your attitude, your confidence, and your style.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style varies from different season. I like to make sure it stays timeless and elevated. I love to layer pieces together because it shows that I can put an outfit together.
Who or what inspires you?
Julia Fox inspires me so much because she has an interesting early life. She is not afraid to express her thoughts to the world even though they are completely different to others. She has a very creative clothing line and I love listening to her podcast. She talks about how she raises her kids and at the same time I feel like she is raising me. Recently, she inspired me to bleach my eyebrows.
What would you say to someone just getting started in modeling?
If you are getting starting with modeling, well we are in the same spot! I have dreamed of being a model my whole life and thought i couldn’t do it because i wasn’t tall enough. Don’t let that stop you like it did to me. I kept dreaming and eventually the universe blessed me with this opportunity. The process of being being a model is to be rejected a few times, so never get discouraged and keep going!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome and how they have changed you.
. Being adopted has caused some obstacles in my life such as self-identity disorder, attachment disorder, grief, etc. These obstacles shaped me as a person because eventually I was able to learn I was different from others, in a good way. I was able to understand that not everyone knows who they are completely. I found closure within myself.
What makes you beautiful?
The one thing about me that makes me beautiful is my confidence. I hold myself up with a purpose and walk around knowing that I am someone that has self worth and self respect. Some people say I look intimidating at first which pulls out an independent, strong, boss-like vibe which i think is very important to have.
What would you say to someone who struggles with their confidence?
To someone who struggles with their confidence needs to know that pretending that you are the most perfect person to walk on this earth is the only way to make yourself feel better. Fake it till you make it. People tend to perceive you the way present yourself. Remember that most people don’t like themselves so why does it matter what they think of you? Stand up straight and walk your walk like you own this earth.
