Tell us about yourself:

My name is Lakeia aka Keia Beia. I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and I’m 27 years old. I am a wardrobe stylist, designer, creative director and brand ambassador. I love all things beauty and fashion! , traveling and being out in nature.

Tell us about your modeling experience.  I started modeling at the age of 6; American’s Next Top Model and Project probably taught me everything I know. It wasn’t until 2016 I started to take modeling serious, I would participate in local hair shows and fashion shows and started to build my modeling portfolio. On my spare time I love watching podcasts, vlogs, dancing

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be able to retire my parents and buy my mom and grandma their dream home.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful means to be confident and love yourself unconditionally.

How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is very versatile. As a wardrobe stylist I love to switch up my style and dress based on how I feel that particular day. One day it may be street style and the next day could be 70s fashion. I love playing with colors and patterns and I will say the 90s is one of my favorite eras when it comes to fashion.

Who or what inspires you?

My mom and Grandma inspire me. They both have shaped me into the woman I am today. Both are very confident, head strong, nurturing and perseverance.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice would be to have fun, be confident, know your worth, have boundaries and never compare yourself to anyone. Follow your own journey and never give up.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Some obstacles I have overcame in my life was learning how to cope with bad anxiety. Spending time with myself often, not overthinking, journaling, yoga and praying/meditating everyday helped me a lot with overcoming that obstacle.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My confidence, the way I treat people and the self love I give myself makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would say it’s normal to struggle with confidence but give yourself grace. Self reflection and being kind to yourself helps a lot. Write affirmations down and list the traits and physical attributes you love about yourself. Confidence is all about knowing yourself.
