Tell us about yourself

My name is Mia R I am 17 years old and I'm from New York. I’d describe myself as being outgoing, driven, and passionate about what I believe in. I love to be around my family and friends. One of my favorite activities to do is competitive cheer. I don’t have a lot of modeling experience, although I have been trying to pursue modeling for a few years. I recently graduated from HS and am able to focus on becoming a model and have worked with my photographer on poses and photo movement.

What is your biggest dream?

A dream of mine has always been to be a Victoria Secret Model and a successful Esthetician.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Everyone is beautiful in their own ways. Kindness, honesty, respect, confidence, generosity, positivity, and willingness shine with beauty.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style goes from one extreme to another. I love to be cozy, comfortable, and warm in an oversize sweatshirt and leggings, yet I also love to dress in glitz and glam..

Who or what inspires you?

My mom is my biggest inspiration. Her name is Annjenette. What has inspired me the most  is that she has always taught me to follow my dreams. She is my guide and gives me the courage to overcome obstacles in my life.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My biggest piece of advice is to be yourself. Self acceptance is huge in this industry. Don't stress about being perfect because no one is. It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

At a young age I struggled with body dysmorphia. I always thought my legs were too long compared to other girls. I have now learned to love my height and see the beautiful person I am inside and out.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I have beautiful height. It was always an insecurity of mine but now I embrace it. Many say that my personality shines through.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would encourage them to stand up for what they believe in and what they want. To focus less on the outcome and more on the efforts in being a stronger person and learning to tolerate failure fosters resilience.
