Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
My name is Jessica Freeland, and I am twenty-three years old. I am from the small town of Hurley, Mississippi. I love spending time with my family and friends but most importantly I love to help care for my 84-year-old Nannie. I work full time and attend school full time. I love having a busy schedule and I love getting to venture out and meet new people.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
This is my first-year modeling, so I am very excited to see what this year holds. I am very eager to learn and become the best version of myself throughout this entire process. Blessed is an understatement when it comes to being a Hannah Noelle model.
What is your biggest dream?
I have many dreams and aspirations in life, so it is very hard to narrow it down to just one thing. I want to live life to the fullest and to do that I need to step out of my comfort zone and simply learn to explore all that this world has to offer. I would love to one day be on the cover of Vogue. As a small-town girl whose always felt the need to venture out and be different I am extremely hopeful to fulfill all the dreams and aspirations one can achieve.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful you need to be yourself and embrace everything that you have to offer. Accept all your flaws and know that you truly are a beautiful human. Always be yourself and fight the urge the comply with society’s standards. Being your own kind of beautiful is being you, every single day, without having to compromise your morals or values. Be confident in all that you do and remember to stand tall and be the person you were made to be.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Coming from a small town I would say my fashion style is a little more on the edge. I love to embrace any sort of fashion from evening wear to casual wear. I truly embrace it all.
Who or what inspires you?
The person who inspires me the most is my mom. She is the true definition of what a strong woman should be. She has been knocked down so much and endured a lot a pain throughout her life and she has never let anything hold her back from reaching her dreams. She truly has shaped me into the person I am today, and I will always be grateful for everything she has sacrificed in order to put her children’s needs before her own.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Since this is my first time getting started with modeling, my advice to you is to just do it. Do not be discouraged because the process sometimes can make you feel like you aren’t good enough and that’s not the case. Keep chasing your dreams because one day someone is going to give you a chance. Do not let one person telling you “no” simply keep you from the dream you’ve been chasing all these years. I truly am honored to represent Hannah Noelle and the beautiful message behind her agency.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
I have overcome many obstacles in my life some good and some bad, but they truly have shaped me into the person I am today. One of the most difficult things I have been through is an eating disorder. Being able to pull myself out of that situation and mindset was truly something I did not think I would be able to do. There is not one thing I would go back and change because I simply would not have the confidence or wisdom that I hold today.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is my goofy personality, my brightness, and my ability to see past what is on the outside because what is on the inside is all that truly matters. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made and each and every one of us are unique and beautiful in our own simple way. There is truly no one in this world that is like you, so embrace your true self and that is where your beauty lies.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
As someone who has struggled with body dysmorphia for years my advice to any young girl and guy is to love yourself first. Don’t let the standards of society make you believe that you are less of a women or man because you lack certain qualities. We are real and human, and we all come with flaws. Learn to embrace who you are because at the end of the day all you have is yourself and that should be enough. Nothing in this world makes a person more beautiful than the belief that you are beautiful. Have confidence in yourself and constantly remind yourself that you are worthy, you are beautiful, and that you are unique in your own beautiful way.
