Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
I’m Sarah Callahan, I am 17 and from Topsfield, MA.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
In recent years, I haven’t had much experience modeling. When I was much younger, I danced competitively and had some modeling exposure. As I’ve moved on from dancing, I began to miss the photo shoots, opportunities and fun I had with modeling.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to help other people discover their inner confidence, love themselves and to find success in the industry.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful to me means to embrace the way you look regardless of flaws and to allow yourself to feel confidence without the judgement of others.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style would definitely be described as classy, fancy, and elegant. I feel most myself in higher end clothing and more formal wear.
Who/ what inspires you?
My biggest inspiration since I was little has always been Cindy Crawford. I remember seeing her in magazines and on Television, completely inspiring me to some day try and do the same thing.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice to someone new to modeling would be that everyone has been a beginner at some point, to keep an open mind but also to understand that hard work pays off. Nothing in the modeling industry is handed to anyone, it takes hard work to succeed.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Some obstacles for me have been overcoming a huge decline in my confidence when I was very out of shape. I’ve since lost over 30 pounds and have found a huge new sense of confidence and self esteem. When I was younger I also had very extreme anxiety especially with stage fright. I ended up being a very good performer and was remembered for my good stage presence. Forcing myself to face it on stage with dance really proves I could overcome anything that was in the way of my goals.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is not just features of my appearance but instead, my confidence in the way I carry myself and how I notice the beauty in others. I have taught many people and learned from others about loving themselves which has become a beautiful trait of mine.
What would you say to another guy/girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
To anyone struggling with confidence, I recommend surrounding yourself with uplifting people but also making an effort to be uplifting as well. Find a mirror, look at yourself and even if you don’t like what you see, start telling yourself you look beautiful and slowly you will gain more confidence.
