Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

My name is Carley Musall and I am from Logansport, Indiana. I am eighteen years old and I am now living in Clearwater, Florida. I graduated from high school a year early with a GPA above a 4.0 and I was in the top ten. I was a cheerleader and a tennis player. I own the sweetest mini golden doodle and I love to take him on runs by the water.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

My modeling experience goes way back to when I was a little girl. I would always be popping my hip and posing for the camera. When I was about 15, I looked into a couple modeling agencies in Indiana and they were just too expensive at the time. Once I made the decision to move to Florida, I realized their are so many more opportunities for modeling here and the my dream is now possible again. I sent in some photos to a studio in Miami and I was able to get a free photoshoot. I had a makeup team and I wore four different outfits. The photographer was great and said he could shoot me all the time. That was a great compliment. Once the photoshoot was over, my step-dad and I looked at the pictures and just knew that we had to buy them and that I really needed to pursue this career.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to do a shoot in Mulan or Paris or somewhere international.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful consists of being who we are from the inside first, and then translating that onto the outside of our bodies secondly. God created us in his image and we all have individuality and that is beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say that my fashion style is trendy, feminine, and confident.

Who or what inspires you?

I have 8 little cousins and they are what inspire me. I want to be a good role model and be someone that they can look up too.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Research, research, research! You have to do lots of research to see if this is the right industry for you. It has to become your lifestyle too and you have to see if you are willing to put in the work.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Some obstacles I have overcame in my life include having a brother pass away, dealing with divorced parents, and an eating disorder. Having my brother pass away the day after he was born was heartbreaking for me and everyone else in my family. It has shaped me by appreciating all the moments that I have with my family members who are here with me today. Having divorced parents was very difficult for me. I found it hard to cope with my parents not being able to get along and the constant arguing. Going through divorced parents has helped me adapt to change easier and it has definitely made me a stronger and more responsible person. I really struggled with my image for a while because I thought I was too big and I would always compare myself to other girls. I developed bulimia nervosa but thankfully I had some amazing friends who were able to help me out of that phase. I know now that that is not the right way to lose weight. Overcoming an eating disorder has made me appreciate my body and realize my beauty no matter what size.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think that my eyes and my self confidence are what make me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would tell them that they are so beautiful and that they do not need to compare themselves to anyone. I would give them a compliment and take time to listen to why they feel the way they do. I would encourage them to pick up a new hobby or try to learn a new skill because learning a new skill can heavily increase confidence.
