Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

Hello! My name is Madison Lambert and I am from Dallas Texas. I am currently attending the University of North Texas for my senior year in college. I am studying as a broadcast journalism major with a concentration in sports and a minor in theater! I enjoy running outdoors, a good movie or book and spending time with my family and friends.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I started modeling this year when the world started opening back up after Covid. I had been working as an actress on stage and in front of the camera for a couple of years, but during the lockdown, decided I wanted to try something new. I have experience in print and trade show modeling, and would like to start doing more commercial work.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be a sideline reporter for the Dallas Cowboys. I grew up watching the Cowboys play every Sunday with my dad, so I’ve had this dream for a very long time. I love being in front of the camera, researching and watching sports and writing, and being a sideline reporter is the perfect combination of all those things!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think what it means to be your own kind of beautiful is to not be defined by what the world’s standard of beautiful is, but to fully embrace the idea that we are all made differently, and should be proud of our differences, instead of trying to change them to look like everyone else. Celebrate your uniqueness, and the things that make you, you! It’s so beautiful to watch someone who is totally in-love with who they are and how they were created, no matter their shape, size or color.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling is to be patient and start a list of core values/affirmations to remind yourself when you are discouraged. This industry, while it can open doors and experiences, can be very toxic and negative at times, which can be very disheartening to someone starting out. (I know from experiencing this feeling many times!) Don’t let someone else’s yes or no define how you see yourself! Be confident in who you are and you’ll find that that will open more doors than you realize.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

An obstacle I’ve overcome in my life that sticks out to me, was my battle with an eating disorder my senior year of high school. I lost friends, my hair, my opportunity to go to College my freshman year, and spent lots of months in a treatment center healing. While reflecting back on that time can be painful, I am so thankful for how that experience shaped me into the woman I am today. It reminded how to be thankful for the little things, how to love those around me, how to enjoy life again, and how to treat my body with care and love. The modeling industry can be a triggering environment to work in, as someone who has struggled with an eating disorder. However, I believe that had I not gone through that experience, I wouldn’t know how to deal with the instructive thoughts and comparisons that enter my mind during a shoot and working with other models in the industry.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think what makes you beautiful is who you are on the inside, that shines through to the outside. When people love others well and are genuine in their care, I immediately think they are beautiful. People today, myself included, can get so wrapped up in our outward appearance, that we actually become less attractive because the selfishness we portray from within. It is truly beautiful to be loving and sincere towards others!

What would you say to another guy/girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?

To a guy or girl that is struggling with their confidence, I would remind them that they are not alone. Even the most handsome/prettiest person on the planet has days when they struggle with their confidence. I think realizing that you are not alone in this struggle and recognizing that your confidence comes from within, is key to overcoming that obstacle!
