Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
My name is Alyssa Alegria I am 20 years old I grew up in Highland Park And Pasadena in Cali. I moved a lot when I was younger so I used to live in a lot of places by LA. I’ve always been into fashion and I have always wanted to become a model to be involved in the fashion industry somehow and to make new friends. I took three fashion design classes thinking that I would like making clothes but I’ve come to realize that I would rather wear other peoples creations.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I’ve modeled for The Model Experience in LA, I’ve only ever been in one runway show and a couple photo shoots but other than that I do not have any experience in modeling. But I would love to learn!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to model for bigger brands and to see my face on a billboard or for a make up ad. I would love to become successful in doing some thing that I love and meeting new amazing people. I’d also love to meet Hunter Schafer!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me being your own kind of beautiful means to just be everything that you are no matter what anybody says. You are not afraid to be your own unique self.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I don’t really have one set style I like to take little bits and pieces of whatever is trending and whatever I feel looks good on me. But if I had to say I would say my style is Y2K meets soft girl.
Who or what inspires you?
My dad and my stepmom really inspire me and motivate me to work hard and to always try my best to reach my goals in life no matter how difficult things get. But for fashion inspiration I tend to pull from a lot of apps like Pinterest or Instagram.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Do not change yourself for anything or anyone, be exactly who you are meant to be. Do not let others pressure you into doing something you don’t wanna do and do not let others keep you from reaching your goals.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Growing up my family didn’t have a lot of money and it forced us to move around a lot and I had to adjust constantly. It was hard to make friends and hard to focus on school. Experiencing this has definitely shaped my personality as I’ve met so many amazing and supportive people along the way.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I would say that my personality and sense of humor are what makes me beautiful. I feel like I am a very easy person to get along with and become friends with!
What would you say to another guy/girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I’ve struggled with this a lot myself and I would say that as hard as it is, don’t let anyone’s opinions change who you are. There is no one else like you in the whole wide world. That makes you one-of-a-kind and rare. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, genders, and colors. Just because you don’t look like someone else doesn’t make you any less beautiful.
