Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

Hi! My name is Farah Elherazy, I am 26 years old, and I am a model in the Northern VA/Washington DC area. I am originally from Alexandria, Egypt, but I have grown up in the Fairfax, VA area.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Known for fashion, portrait, and bridal modeling. I have a huge passion for fashion and I  love showcasing it on camera. I enjoy working with photographers and agencies that have a creative eye. I always bring my energy to every shoot, and I can easily transform into the element of any theme that is asked of me. I take direction well, and I am a quick learner when it comes to angles, poses, and facial expressions. I have done an array of shoots and runways.

What is your biggest dream?

I have so many dreams, and I think dreams are what keep us alive and moving forward. My biggest dream in the modeling world would be to walk in Paris Fashion Week. I grew up watching Paris fashion week on tv, youtube, the internet, and just being so immersed in the beauty of it. Wearing custom designer pieces and being able to walk down that runway amongst some of the most talented people in the fashion world, and best of all in the city of lights, would be a dream of a lifetime.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful is living life the way that you know you should live it, without any worry of who will be around when you do. Simply put, being your own kind of beautiful is being yourself daily! It is never losing sight of your inner beauty even when the external changes.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Diverse. I like to try different styles, and I love to mix things up. I have always had an eye for fashion, and growing up I would immerse myself in fashion magazines and shows. I would always make sure to stock up on vogue magazines anytime I was at the airport for my flight. I believe that fashion gives you the superpower to be anyone you want even just for a day. I have always viewed my style as a form of expression. I most definitely have always had an avid love for dresses, but I can also rock an edgy look when I am feeling it.

Who or what inspires you?

My family constantly inspires me to be the best version of myself. Whenever I have had a goal, dealt with an obstacle, or felt like giving up; they are always there to cheer me on and give me the courage to keep going. They fuel my passion to chase my dreams, and they have always instilled confidence in me.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Do not take no for an answer! As cliche as it may sound, never stop chasing your dreams. Sometimes you have to knock on the same door many times before it's your time to enter. I truly believe that you can achieve anything that you want, you just have to promise yourself that you will never lose sight of your goal even if you feel like giving up. Lastly, always stay true to yourself. Modeling is supposed to showcase you in the way that expresses yourself and your uniqueness regardless of the concept/theme, so make sure you always feel that it is always "YOU" that you portray. Stand up for what you want, and hold yourself at a high value. You are your best asset.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Growing up I was always insecure of my height. I always felt that I stood out and was "bigger" than everyone around me. I would find ways to make myself seem shorter by hunching when I walked, sitting at any opportunity, and shying away from situations where I would be surrounded by many people shorter than me. In high school I felt like my height made me "less feminine" and "less womanly", because of how much taller I was than the girls and boys in my school. It wasn't until my junior year of college where I truly took my height as my strength. I stood tall, I actually began to love standing out and taking pictures. When I began to model, it truly made me love myself and find my height as the most beautiful feature of mine. I love the power and inner strength that modeling continues to give me.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My passion for life. When I am at my happiest I am the best version of myself, being able to uplift those around me is what makes me beautiful. The ability to radiate joy and positivity to others, and allowing them to radiate that same energy is truly a gift.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

You only get one body, so you might as well love it as best as you can. We are each created in a unique way, and there is only "ONE' of each of us out there, and I think that is pretty spectacular. Always remember that it doesn't matter what other people think. A quote that I like to remind myself of when I am not feeling my greatest is; "Comparison is the thief of joy".
