Hi there I am Nikisha or Niki my close friends and family call me. I am born and raised in Sacramento, California, where I am currently a Registered Behavioral Therapist, and I am 22 years old! I come from a family who migrated from The Fiji Islands in order for better and bigger opportunities! I have been a freelance model for about 2 years now. I honestly have been struggling due to very traumatic life experiences.

Tell us about your modeling experience. 

My first modeling experience was through TME or The Modeling Experience in Los Angeles for their 2019 Summer Fashion Show. After that I was featured in Lil Rich’s “Park La Brea” music video. After that I did take a break because I went through some life changes which caused me to move back home. Though I was on a break I continued to work on my portfolio and apply to many agencies including Hannah Noelle Models. Finally after 2 years I can be apart of such a great team!

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be able to retire my mom! Growing up my mom has worked 2 jobs nonstop now it is my job to take care of her and tell her it’s time to rest and enjoy life with me! She taught me to always believe in your dreams and try to help each and every soul you touch, because you never know when someone is having a bad day and in need of a smile. I honestly would love to start with one mom at a time to eventually give all moms a little break from day to day life.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beauty definitely goes hand in hand with this quote “Beauty lies in the eye of they beholder.” by Margaret Wolfe Hungerford. Being your true self is your own kind of beauty. If we had only red crayons in our box our drawings would only be red, a bit boring don’t you think? Having our purples, pinks, blacks, yellows allows us to show we are a magical box of crayons that adds color into the world! We as individuals are the colorful crayons of real life! And we each add our own spice of beauty!

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is very simple in my everyday life. I’m a simple jeans and t- shirt gal. But if I had to go out and make a statement, I’m talking bright colors, a statement necklace, heels because I don’t want to be lost in a crowd you see. I’m very color coordinated as well. My shoe have to match my outfit let’s just say!

Who or what inspires you?

My inspiration would have to be life! I’ve nearly seen death, and that made me realize life is short and we need to use life as our fuel to keep going. One life can change the whole world or at least give it a smile and some love to keep it going. We’re all here to accomplish and share, this alone inspires me to just keep going to one day eventually help someone or many people to feel accomplished with little thing to eventually become big things!

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Starting off I struggled a lot booking gigs or signing an agency due to having acne or just not the look they wanted. In all reality this may have been said many times but it is for a reason “always be true to yourself”, many people will hide underneath other opinions. Being yourself gets you a lot more attention because that makes you different and different is good. It took me awhile to understand that but indulged yourself with friends or family that acknowledges you for you and never wants you to hide it. This will help you confidence and that will help you be successful in many paths in life.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I honestly think, me being open minded and being able to speak up when needed makes me beautiful. For me those traits show me I’m strong and when I feel strong I feel beautiful!

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Babes, life is full of scratches and scars but there are billions of stars that are waiting to be ignited just start your fire and you’ll blast off in no time!
