Tell us about yourself.

My name is Jada Brianna.  My friends and family call me COCO. I am a 20 year old, sophomore in college.  I attend Colorado Mesa University.   My personality……I am a very goofy girl who loves to make people laugh/smile.  I was raised in Jackson, MS, but I currently reside in Gilbert, AZ.  My faith is Christianity.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have been modeling since I was 3 years old.  So, I consider myself a seasoned model.  I have done photo shoots for several magazines to include Dreamy, Bellingers, and Coco’s fashions.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

As a young, African American female to be my own kind of beautiful means to be confident in my own skin, and to be myself without letting the world change “me”.  I’m always reminded that beauty on the outside fades, but to be beautiful inside is definitely one’s own kind of beauty!!

How would you describe your fashion style?

My style varies from comfortable, fashionable, and vintage!

Who or what inspires you?

Hand down….. my mom.  Her faith and belief in God and that all things are possible gave me the courage and faith to follow my dreams.  My belief in God  gives me the confidence to believe and operate as in the knowledge that no one or nothing  can hold be down or keep me from achieving my dreams as long as I put in the hard work required to be successful.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

BE YOURSELF.  Don’t compare yourself to anyone else.  Know who you are and be confident in who you are. Even If you make mistakes just remember no one is perfect.  If at first you don’t succeed…. Don’t dare give up…..try again.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

As a teenager, I was bullied because of my size and shape.  I would always reflect on what my mom told me….. in God’s eyes we are all equal.  So anytime someone body shamed me because I wasn’t “thick” , or made me feel bad for being a thin girl,  I just remembered we are all equal thick or thin.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think my personality makes me beautiful. The ability to care enough to make people smile and laugh while showing my goofy side and being myself. I believe that stand out the most in me.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would advise them to look deep within.   I would ask them to name one person in this world who is perfect.  I will reassure them that we all struggle with something.  I will definitely show them how beautiful/handsome they are and explained to them that the world doesn’t define who they are….only they can define who they are.  We all have a purpose on this earth.  Find what you are good at and let that lead you to your passion/purpose = Confidence.
