Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

Hi! My name is Ava and I'm from Wellsburg, WV. I'm 15 years old, and I'm an honors student. I've danced for The Studio in Follansbee since I was 6 years old, and I have done pageants since I was 11 months old. Modeling has been apart of my life for as long as I can remember!

Tell us about your modeling experience. 

I've always had a special place in my heart for modeling. It's always a way to meet new people and experience new things. I became an ambassador for ModelWeek Pittsburgh in October 2020, and it's been so much fun for me.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to graduate college with a degree in Criminal Justice and go to WVU Law School. I'd love to have my own law firm someday.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think everyone is beautiful in their own kind of way. Beauty is not only on the outside, but being kind on the inside makes you so much more beautiful. If you're kind to people, it makes you glow.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I'd say I like to keep up with the trends, but I also love vintage and repurposed pieces. A hobby of mine is finding things that my mom wore in the 90s and making them my own.

Who or what inspires you?

My biggest inspiration is my mom. She is always pushing me to be myself, and she is behind me every step of the way. 

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

I'd remind them to never change anything about themselves for someone else. Confidence is such a huge part of feeling beautiful.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

A few years ago, I was in an accident that truly changed my life. It made me realize who my true friends were and it shaped me as a person. I wasn't able to participate in dance for two years, but I've finally been back to doing what I love.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think beauty comes from the inside and the way you treat people.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence? 

Make sure you are the kind of person that you want to see in others. Never put others before yourself. Self love is so important.
