Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
My name is Jaivia Monea and I am from the DFW metropolitan area in Texas, 18 years old, born in west Texas. I am in love with making others happy.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
Before signing to Hannah Noelle I took classes with Barbizon and John Casablancas. I have been published in numerous magazines and covered Evon Nior. I have walked in Magnifique fashion shows hosted by ANTM runner-up Victoria Henley. With hard work and perseverance I have managed to do all of this on my own. I hope that with Hannah Noelle I can expand my portfolio and take the modeling industry by storm!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to own my own business. I have not figured out exactly what I want it to be or any of the details. I am just certain that would love to be my own boss.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
I think that “be your own kind of beautiful” means embracing yourself and your uniqueness. When I think of beauty I don’t think perfection, instead I think personally and individually. Being your own kind of beautiful is owning your imperfections and not molding yourself to society’s vision of you, instead following your vision of you; unapologetically.
How would you describe your fashion style?
A crazy mess... with some edge. I can honestly say that I can pull off almost anything! No matter what color, style or energy I am trying to portray, I always pull it off. I don’t like to stick down to one style and I think of my fashion as an “open book”.
Who or what inspires you?
What inspires me most is my potential possibility of major success. I don’t want to work under someone else all of my life and I want to do what I love for a living. What motivates and inspires me is the fact that I have so much potential to reach those aspirations.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be a model. Training is always good to have, but the modeling industry is about connections and connections come from networking. Make a list of one hundred people in the modeling industry that you would like to work with. Reach out to every one of them and a few of them are bound to get back to you. And even if they don’t your name will now be in the back of their minds. So get your name out there and stop spending so much money! Also find trade for print photographers to shoot you so that you can expand your portfolio for agencies to look at with little to no cash investment.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
My life has been fairly smooth sailing but for the past few years it has been up and down. My parents separated in 2019 and my grandma died in 2020. These events have only made me stronger. Although I have my bad days, I still keep pushing because I know that life goes on even if it feels like it’s stopped.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
The thing that makes me beautiful is my personality. I always try to keep a positive outlook on ever situation that I am in. I am always looking for a laugh because it brings me joy to see smiles. My beauty truly comes from within and I’m ecstatic to share my personality with the world.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence
Don’t let others define you! Confidence doesn’t come from others motivating you, it comes from you motivating yourself. Do daily affirmations , get up and do your hair, make your bed, clean, dress nice. Simple things like that will build your confidence. Say you love yourself in the mirror everyday. These are all things that helped me and I hope they can help you as well!
