Hi everyone, my name is Destiny Love I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia but Jackson, Michigan is also my home. I am 19 years old and turning 20 on May 3rd of this year!
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I started modeling at 12 years old while competing in a state pageant, one of the categories was Top Model and I won 4th place. From there I took training and classes for about 2 years through MCI. I took a few years break to finish extracurricular activities, so in Senior year I was booked as a teen model for Cinderella's Gowns. I have been in 4 runway shows so far. I have continued to train with some of the best and have recently booked a modeling print job for Verizon and YGL Clothing brand. This year I will be walking in New York Fashion Week produced by Art Hearts.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be a supermodel and a successful actress. I also aspire to create my own production company and non-profit for kids who can not afford to be in the arts.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being beautiful to me is being confident. If you believe in yourself everyone else will! I try to live by this everyday.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my style as chic and trendy. I love colors and adding plenty of accessories to create the perfect look.
Who or what inspires you?
God inspires me. My faith truly helps me in this business to continue to strive to reach my dreams.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Don't Give Up! In this industry you have to work hard for your dreams, nothing is handed to you.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
In my life, we struggled with making ends meet for the majority of it. There were times where my mom was working 2 jobs just to make funds for our family. Watching my mom as a child work so hard to support my dreams truly motivated me to be a hard worker as I am today. I will never forget the sacrifices my parents made for my goals!
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I think my personality makes me beautiful. Being beautiful on the outside doesn't really mean much, it is what is inside that counts.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would say, speak to yourself everyday. Say to yourself in the mirror you are beautiful and confident. Words are powerful and I truly think this would help people my age!
