Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add):

I’m from a small town called Pilot Mountain in North Carolina. I’m 21 years old.

Tell us about your modeling experience:

I always thought I wasn’t pretty enough to be a model, so this is my first experience with a modeling agency. I’ve had professional photo shoots done, but it was usually just me and my sister with an iPhone.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be a writer. I’ve always wanted to be a bestselling author.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful means unapologetically being yourself. There’s a type of beauty that’s unmatched when someone is being their genuine self.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is constantly changing. Right now I’m going through a boho phase.

Who or what inspires you?

Powerful women inspire me. Single mothers, women who worked hard for their degrees, women in male-dominated fields, etc.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice would be to Renee to that you are good enough. It’s easy to compare yourself to other models and think, “she’s so much prettier than me,” or, “she’s skinnier than me,” or, “she’s taller than me,” but you need to remember that they aren’t you. They don’t have the qualities unique to you. You are different in your own way and you bring something new to the industry.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you:

I went through an abusive relationship for three years. I was emotionally and verbally abused everyday. It was a very hard experience to go through, but the aftermath of realizing exactly what I had been through was worse. I had developed depression, and sought out treatment for the disorder. That relationship changed me completely. Some days it’s harder for me to get out of bed and keep going, but I push through it. Going through that whole experience forced me to become a stronger person.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

What makes me beautiful is my strength. I have a lot of scars, but I wear them boldly. I’ve been through a lot with my mental health and have overcome every obstacle in my path, thus my endurance and strength are my makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence:

My advice would be not to compare yourself to others. Comparison will destroy your spirit. Focus on yourself instead of others, and your confidence will grow.
