Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

Well my name is Ashanti and I am from Miami, Florida. I’ve been living here since I were born I’m 25 years old now. Just this year and a couple years back I’ve only started to travel, seeing other places. So it’s been really fun for me lately. 

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I’ve gotten into modeling when I were younger at the age of 14 yrs old, I’ve had my training done at Barbizon. while also taking acting lessons after graduating as well. But due to family problems I had to stop for a while. I worked on a couple projects since I started back modeling, and I hope to do more in the future. 

What’s your biggest dream?

My biggest dream since I were 3 yrs of age is to be the most well known person in the world. Also the most well respected model/actress in the industry in state and out of state. I want to exceed the dreams I already have and work with every photographer/go-see in the industry around the world. 

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being my own kind of beautiful means to defy all the negative aspects of standard beauty. Stepping outside the box and being my creative and trendsetting self. My uniqueness is what makes me beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style ranges a little of everything, from chic wear, to glam, to punk rock/ rock, sexy/ professional sexy, and also playful and cute. Sometimes sporty. Depends on how I’m feeling on that day as well. 

Who or what inspires you?

I inspire myself. Because I also envision myself out on stage doing what I love and dream about the most. But also I do have an inspiration as well and that person is Naomi Campbell. She’s the greatest and most well known model out there amongst all the others like grace jones. I’d love to be outstanding and great like them or even greater one day. 

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice is to go for your dreams. Stand out if you have too. Don’t let anyone tell you or try to tell you what you can and cannot do. If they try walk away don’t listen to those people. Keep going and don’t ever stop. 

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

A few obstacles I’ve overcome is being stopped from doing what I love to do. Like I mentioned earlier on I had to stop modeling for a while due to family problems and because I were young and couldn’t drive at the time I would not have been able to make the castings or auditions. Another is people around me were doubting me. And I’d ignore them. Between the problem and those negative comments and people it only made me stronger and push harder to reach my dreams. It has shaped me into the iron woman I am today. 

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My uniqueness makes me beautiful, because I am unlike any other girl. And also my imagination. Which is very vivid and makes me creative. 

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Sometimes I struggle with confidence as well. But I have to remember who I am and what makes me unique. Because when you understand yourself and know who you are, and are happy within yourself, then the confidence follows.
