Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I was born in Lima, Peru, but I immigrated to Miami, FL at the age of 15. I am 37 years old, but I am turning 38 in April!

I completed high school in Miami, and I received a scholarship to study at Florida International University (FIU), where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and graduated Cum Laude. Shortly after earning my Bachelor's, I earned a Master's degree in Public Administration (also from FIU), where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. After completing my Master's, I accepted a foreign affairs officer position at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC. At State, I oversaw and managed two international law enforcement academies located in Hungary and Botswana. I also worked on the Leahy law, which prevents human rights violators from receiving U.S. security assistance. After working in diplomacy, human rights, and foreign security assistance for almost nine years, I left the State Department in 2020. I got my FL real estate license in January of 2021, and I am currently working in real estate full time. I also started modeling after I left the State Department in 2020, and it's been an amazing experience so far!

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have been modeling for about 6 months now. I have done more than 10 TFP shoots, and my work has been published in the U.S. and internationally.

What is your biggest dream?

I am currently modeling part time, but eventually, I would love to do this full time and work with big brands for print, fashion and commercial modeling. Aside from modeling,  I also enjoy acting and music. It has always been a dream of mine to work on a TV sitcom because I love to make people laugh and I like acting :) Another big dream of mine is to be the lead in a music video. Besides that, I also want to be an inspiration for mature models and I want to let them know that it's ok to start over again, and that it's never too late to do what makes you happy and to make your dreams a reality!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful means to be yourself, and feeling comfortable in your own skin. It means appreciating your imperfections and embracing the things that you love about yourself.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style varies with my mood, but for the most part I would say that I love the glam look a lot!

Who or what inspires you?

My parents left everything in Peru so that we could have a better life here in the U.S. They started all over again and little by little began living the American dream despite all the obstacles they faced when we first moved here. I would say they are my biggest inspiration and the symbol of hard work, determination, persistence, and discipline. They are my heroes!

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Do as many TFP shoots as you can so that you can get experience and build a portfolio! Instagram is a great place to start, search for photographers in your area and ask if they do TFP shoots. Be active on social media and put your name out there.  Digitals are also important and a lot of  modeling agencies require them, so make sure you take digitals with great lighting, and wear little to no makeup.  Apply to as many modeling agencies as you can, but make sure you research them well before you apply. And another thing that helped me a lot when I first started modeling is You Tube. There is a lot of information for new models there!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

My family was persecuted by terrorists in Peru (which is the reason why we fled to the U.S.) so I would say that is the biggest challenge I have experienced in my life. Starting a life here while I was a teen, and not going back to my country for more than 5 years was also pretty devastating (my family and I were not allowed to leave the U.S. and visit Peru due to asylum restrictions). But those experiences made me who I am today, and they taught me to be strong, resilient and to be grateful that I had the chance to live a better life here.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My empathy, my compassion, my generosity, and my boldness. But one of the qualities that I really love about myself is my ability to be open to new ideas and perspectives, and to be kind and open minded to people that are different from me. Working for the State Department prepared me to interact with people from different backgrounds and walks of life, and I think that is a beautiful quality to have!

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would tell them that everyone is beautiful in their own way, and that everyone has insecurities but that doesn't stop them from going after their dreams! And to learn to accept who they are and embrace those qualities that they like about themselves.
