Tell us about yourself.

My name is Madi Wunschel. I am 16 years old and from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. 

Tell us about your modeling experience. 

I’ve been modeling for about 3 years now. I went to training at Barbizon Modeling School and graduated in 2019. Since then, I have competed at showcases such as Passport to Discovery and D.C. I currently do shoots with different agencies and walk in shows such as New York Fashion Week.   

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to be able to be in a magazine and walk in fashion shows all over the world.  

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful means to happily be yourself, regardless of what others think. This means being happy in your own skin, your own style, and your overall being. 

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would say my fashion style is a mix of trendy and high fashion. I love to keep up to date with the newest styles and stay classy with old ones.

Who or what inspires you?

One person that has inspired me as a kid is my mom. She’s always pushed me to be the best person I can be and I love being able to show her all of the work I can do because of her inspiration. 

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice to someone who is just starting modeling is to not give up. I have been denied from many, many agencies, which can feel defeating. These negatives can result in positives and sticking with it is so important. 

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

When I was a child, I was bullied for practically everything about me which caused me to have severe anxiety which I still deal with everyday.  I struggled to be myself as I would be made fun of for how I looked and the things I would say. As I grew up, modeling was able to really help me become myself and love myself for who I am. I feel as if the bullying I have gone through in my life and the negative people have made me stronger in the end. 

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

One thing I think makes me beautiful from the inside is my personality. I feel like I am able to radiate a lot of positivity, and I think that makes me really beautiful. 

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I know how hard it is to struggle with self confidence. To those who also struggle with it, look in the mirror every single day and tell yourself how beautiful you are. I promise in the end you will believe yourself and become more positive.
