Tell us about yourself.

I am from Clarksdale, Ms a small town in the Delta part of Mississippi. My family history is rich with entertainment history although I am the first to pursue modeling. Despite being from a small town I have experienced many different cultures thanks to my mother moving us around a lot. I am athletic and love to sew. I one day hope to own my own fashion line.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Since I started modeling I’ve had a lot of unique experiences working with different models and photographers. I remember my first gig it was for a jewelry line totally unexpected because I wasn’t one of the original models casted for the commercial. I also remember my first rejection and how it made me want to give up but I couldn’t help but think back to how I felt in front of the camera the first time. I loved every minute of it and it’s what keeps me going.

What is your biggest dream?

This may sound funny but my biggest dream is to own a farm with at least 10 children whether adopted or my own. I’ve always loved nature and dreamt of living off of the land as well as a Bîg family. I won’t stop until I’ve accomplished both of these goals in life.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be my own kind of beautiful I would say not to see flaws. But those are they very things that make us beautiful and should be embraced. It’s what makes us uniquely beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is very diverse in itself I’ve always been the weird dressed kid seeing a beauty in piece of clothing and daring to make it fit. I never liked following the current trends but remixing them to my own benefit. I absolutely love high fashion because there are no rules. You can express who you are truly.

Who or what inspires you?

Children. I know it sounds strange but children are the most inspiring to me. They have not a care in the world. If they make a mistake they shrug it off and try again, they have yet to care what the next person thinks they’re the definition of free spirits and I aspires to be just as free.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

I would advise that they be careful of the people they work with and look for quality when starting their portfolio. Also don’t be afraid of rejection because a few nos can lead to a huge yes one day. Don’t forget to be your self because everyone else is already copying the people before them.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Confidence issues and being poor are two of the most important things to shape me. If I hadn’t grown to embrace what was different about me being one of the less fortunate kids everywhere I lived I wouldn’t have thought there was more out there. I was teased for being biracial by my own family I used to think something was wrong with me. I had to learn myself and be myself and it was the best thing over ever done.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I’ve never thought of myself as beautiful. When I was younger I was bullied all the time. It lowered my self esteem and I thought I was ugly. But over time as I gained it back I still didn’t feel beautiful but this time not because I thought I was ugly but because I realized everyone was beautiful in so many ways and I realize I’m just as ordinary as beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Stop caring?! You’re the only person that sees what’s wrong with you! The things you hate are the things people will love most about you. I guarantee for every single thing you find beautiful someone else can find at least two. Embrace everything about who you.
