Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

My name is Elyse and I’m a Boston based model. I’ve been dancing since age 5, so moving into modeling was a natural transition for me. I am relentlessly optimistic and truly enjoy the creative process. Looking forward to what’s next!

Tell us about your modeling experience.

The first gig that got me interested in modeling was when I opened the runway for a Toni & Guy Academy Soiree at Twin River Casino. Since then, I’ve had a lot of fun doing mostly lifestyle and editorial work. It’s been really fun being featured both nationally and internationally and published in print and digital mediums. I find it really rewarding seeing the published work, magazine covers and written interviews!

What is your biggest dream?

To have so many creative, fun shoots that I can enjoy the art of modeling full-time.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I think it means truly embracing who you are; seeing all sides of yourself and using your personality and experiences to encourage others. I’ve been told that my personality really shines through into my photographs and is part of what makes me beautiful.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Being a trained dancer, I love wearing clothes that let you move in them! I’m a big fan of chic, comfortable clothes for everyday wear, then stilettos and dressing up for events. It’s fun to mix it up!

Who or what inspires you?

Artists sharing their passions; musicians, graphic editors, models…people who are genuinely in love with what they do and having the time of their life sharing it!

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

“Be yourself everyone else is already taken.” -Oscar Wilde

Work with as many people as you can, don’t be embarrassed to check references, continually practice your craft and enjoy the growth process.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

When I started I didn’t have anyone in the industry to help me; it took a lot of work, research, networking and asking lots of questions to get me where I am today.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My friends would probably point out that I hardly ever stop smiling! Growing up with the faith-based view to keep the future in mind, I have cultivated a heart of gratitude that helps me with everything that comes my way. My general demeanor is joyful, warm and caring with some strength and fierceness to balance it out.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Recognize that you have innate value and worth! Acknowledge your accomplishments however big or small, and be excited to show people what you have to offer. You have special qualities that are unique to you, don’t be afraid to embrace them!
