Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

 Hi! My name is Makayla and I am 19 years old. I live in Chandler, Arizona. In addition to modeling I love to dance and play the cello!

Tell us about your modeling experience. 

For several years now it has been my dream to become a model, but more recently now I have been pursuing it. I have done freelance modeling for a while and it has been a great experience. I also took Country Girl Managements four-week course where I learned many skills for modeling.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to become a successful model, and to see my brand in many places! Being able to do what I love while traveling and being able to make an impact on the world would be my all time goal.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

Being your own kind of beautiful means to love and respect your own beauty. Not letting society’s beauty standards have any affect to yourself.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I try to have a classy style, but in the end I do love trying different styles such as boho, streetwear, etc and getting out of my comfort zone.

Who or what inspires you?

My supportive friends and family really inspire me to pursue modeling! Watching a few of my model inspirations succeed really makes me motivated!

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

 My advice would be to never give up, if you keep pursuing your dream and pushing yourself to do the best you can do, you will reach your goal! There will be obstacles and a few times where you might think it’s not worth it or you can’t do it, but never give up and believe you can.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I used to perform in musical theatre’s which I loved. However overcoming stage fright and rejection in the casting process was something I got used too. It was hard to accept and want to continue when you would get rejected from roles you really wanted, but after time and pursing it, I would get roles! It was worth it in the end.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My mind and being a kind person to those around me makes me beautiful. Accepting myself and loving who I am makes me a beautiful person.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

When you are struggling with confidence remember, there is only one of you. No one else could ever replace you or be who you are. You are perfect just the way you are!
