Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
I am 21 years old, from Austin, Texas!
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I began modeling when I was 12 years old, had multiple runway classes and did my first show at 13. I recently was able to begin pursuing my dream full on, and was able to attend Coco Rocha Model Camp, which amplified my ability to perform in front of the camera as well as the runway, and so much more.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to model for Christian Dior.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me, being your own kind of beautiful means being okay with your uniqueness, and embracing it. Not trying to be what’s popular, and just staying true to yourself.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would describe my fashion style as eclectic, yet classic.
Who or what inspires you?
I am very inspired by Natalie Portman, not only is she a beloved movie star, she has depth, as well as intelligence. She encourages women to do it all, and prioritize your education and humility as much as your status, if not more.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Criticism does not equal rejection, take criticism positively, and if it’s not constructive, disregard it and keep moving on!
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
I was diagnosed with high functioning autism as a child, however, I wasn’t aware of my diagnosis until recently when I noticed a tick that I have. I asked my mom about it and she told me about my prior diagnosis, and my struggle to socialize my entire life made sense. Dealing with this caused me to have extreme anxiety and attachment to my mom. As I got older I learned what was more socially acceptable and was very self aware, to the point where I was too nervous to look straight ahead any time I am in public, it even went on throughout high school. Modeling has changed my life, the confidence I have built up has changed the way I go about my daily life, though I still struggle with some social aspects.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is who I am as a person, not how I physically look, I see other people the same way. If you act nasty or mean, then that’s what is reflected on the outside.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Stop comparing yourself to the people you find beautiful. If you’re not your own idea of beauty, you’re surely someone else’s.
