My name is Henryneek Jackson, and I am 18 yrs old. I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, but I grew up in Orlando, FL and I’ve been here ever since. I am the oldest of 4, I have 3 younger sisters and whom I love very dearly. I am currently a college student studying Business and minoring in Physiology, my dream is to own my own businesses and take care of my family, I also love helping others workout their problems and encouraging them to see that God is bigger than anything we may face. I put God in front and in the center of everything I do, my relationship with Him is most important because without Him I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m so thankful and grateful for how far He has brought me and I can’t wait to see what He has next!
Tell us about your modeling experience.
When I was younger I knew that modeling was something I wanted to do, I would always watch “America’s Next Top Model” and dream of being on the show. I did a photoshoot with a friend and after that I was sold, I even got accepted into Miss Teen USA and I loved every part of it. I love that modeling makes everyone feel beautiful and it encourages women that they can embrace every part of them and love it.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to inspire and leave my mark on every person I meet. I want to encourage people that no matter how many No’s you get, all it takes is for someone to say yes and all the no’s don’t matter anymore. I want to inspire young girls that your dreams can come true even if the road seems to be long, if God said it then nobody can take it away from you. Lastly I want to provide and take care of my family and be one with God.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me it means to be beautifully and wonderfully made in God’s image, and since God is a perfect God, I know that every imperfection that I may think I have, in God’s eyes, I’m perfect to him and I love that.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My style is more of chic, business/ casual, street wear, with a little high fashion edge to it. But it continues to change and grow.
Who or what inspires you?
I have a few family member that inspire me because no matter the obstacle thrown their way, they always continue to push forward and keep their eyes on God to achieve their goals. Most importantly God inspires me because no matter what is said about him he continues to show up everyday for us and loves us unconditionally.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with Modeling?
My advice would be to never give up, because yes I know its tough and things seem to never move as fast as we want them to, but if you just hold on a little longer and know that God has not brought you this far to leave you. The wait will be so much worth it, because the plans that he has for you are so much bigger then what you could imagine or even think of, that waiting would be so much more worth it, because his plans are never to harm you but to give you a hope and a future! So don’t give up, because I know YOU GOT THIS!
Describe some obstacles that you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
One of the most life changing obstacles in my life was when I went through depression for 2 yrs not knowing what the outcome would be. I had people to talk too and I knew I could trust that God would bring me out of it but, when your going through a dark time not knowing when or how you would see the light, you quickly become angry. I didn’t understand why me and why did I have to go through that. There were plenty of times that I cried myself to sleep, not wanting to be around anyone, it was so bad that I didn’t want to talk to God. But thank God for the people he put in my life to help me through that because they didn’t let me sit in my sorrow, they encouraged me that I could see the light again and that God was still with me, even if I felt alone. I know that God put me through depression to shape me into the women I am today, and so I could talk to other girls who’s going through the same thing I went through, so that I can get on their level and help them through it because I was there before.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is my personality and spirit, if my inside is not shinning I would only be a fake on the outside, so my heart makes me beautiful because I love Jesus and I love people.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would say start putting encouraging notes around your area, so that wherever you go, you can encourage yourself everyday, also try to look your self in the mirror everyday and compliment yourself, compliment those areas you call flaws and eventually they will start to look beautiful to you. Lastly read the word and see what God says about how you are the “Head and not the tail, Above and not Beneath” and how he says he created you in His image, and I will pray that you find that confidence in yourself to be the best You that You could be.
