Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
Hi, I am Tenneh and I’m 23 years old and an author. Growing up I had a speech impediment. I currently live in Boston, Massachusetts however I am originally from Guinea Conakry. I’m an Elementary & Early Childhood Education English major.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I would say that my modeling experience always has been up and down. I’ve been involved in the modeling business on and off for a while. I had been rejected by so many modeling agencies because I didn’t have the right height.
What is your biggest dream?
Even though I’m getting my BA in Elementary & Early Childhood Education English, I always wanted to be a model since I was a kid. Modeling means everything to me. And to be part of NYFW.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Be your own kind of beautiful is being yourself and accepted who you are no matter what the outcome is. Beauty isn’t just outside is both in and out.
How would you describe your fashion style?
I would say my fashion style is simple, 89% of the time you would catch with sweatpants, leggings, and joggers. I love to feel comfortable.
Who or what inspires you?
Tyra Banks has always inspired me in so many ways like believed in myself and never give up and follow my heart. She is an icon who made me feel like I can make it in this modeling industry.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
I would say if you see any opportunities go for it because you don’t know when this same opportunity would come.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Something that I overcame in my life is growing with s speech impediment. I am a winner! I refused to let a disability cripple her for the rest of her life, overcame a speech impediment.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I believe my perspective on life makes me beautiful. I feel God has given me so many challenges in life to be a better person and achieve my dream. And to me, life is all about blessings and it gives me serenity, strength, confidence, and belief in myself.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
In life we all make mistakes, and we are different in our own ways, but sometimes we have to embrace the things that make us different and uniques.
