Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)
I’m 26 years old. I was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil and moved to Long Island, NY when I was just about eight years old. I still carry a lot of my Brazilian culture with me. Nonetheless, I love life on Long Island! I spend most of my free time painting oil portraits, playing the Ukulele, reading up on random topics and of course spending time with my family, they mean the world to me.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I began modeling when I was 22 years old. I love learning new things and at first it started as something just merely something I wanted to learn more about. Little by little by passion for it grew. I love that I’ve met people from all walks of life through modeling, and I love being able to help create beautiful images and help bring ideas to life.
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to be able to use my skills and my time to positively affect the people around me. I want to empower people, I want to advocate for the people who are not often heard.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me that means accepting yourself, acknowledging and appreciating the things that make you unique. Being beautiful is something that surpasses the physical form. Its something you can share with others. Beauty to me involves peace of the mind, body and soul.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My style can be mercurial just like me haha. I love trying new trends and being creative but I also love being comfortable.
Who or what inspires you?
People and nature. Also, my mother.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
Be yourself. Keep working hard. Things wont happen overnight, but if you stay consistent and work hard you’ll inevitably achieve your goals. Also don’t be hard on yourself or lose yourself. Follow your gut.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
I know it sounds melodramatic but man oh man regardless of the advise and things people tell you, navigating life is in it of itself an obstacle! Nothing really prepares you for dealing with loss and love, and heartache. When I was younger I didn’t know how to deal with things. I didn’t know how to deal with my insecurities and doubt. I wasn’t very happy with how I looked, my broken English. I let a lot of the negative things people would say shape my reality. So I spent most of my time playing computer games and often found myself and lost myself in books. It hindered me in some ways, but it was because of that, that I eventually found myself as well. It’s a never ending journey but I can proudly say I know myself now.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I love life and I am grateful for everyday I get to spend on this earth. I think that makes me beautiful.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
Search for nondestructive things that make you enjoy the experience of being human. Things that make your heart feel full, and when you’ve found it, share it with others. And lastly , take pride in WHO YOU ARE.
