Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add):
I am from San Francisco, California. I am 30 years old and have been living in Germany for over 10 years. I moved to Germany as part of an exchange program in college and loved it so much I decided to stay here. I have 4 university degrees, speak German at an advance level, and previously worked in Marketing for several software companies. Three years ago, I decided to go after my dream of modeling and have been modeling since then. I have always wanted to model ever since I was a child and now that my dream has come true, I couldn’t be happier and more thankful! I wake up every morning thinking this is the best decision I have ever made, aside from moving abroad.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I have been modeling since 2018 and decided to go after my dream at the age of 28. I honestly thought I might have been too old to start, but after learning about the industry and the possibilities I could have, I knew I could still go after what I always wanted. I am now signed to over 6 modeling agencies located in Germany, Italy, and now the USA with Hannah Noelle Models. I have had extensive training in posing and catwalk by doing a few modeling camps and development programs. I have shot in all areas of modeling including but not limited to glamour, fashion, editorial, commercial, fitness, lifestyle, boudoir, swimwear, portraits, and fine art. I really started from the ground up and it is only up from here . YAY!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to become the best model I can be which entails a few specific things. I want to be able to travel beyond Germany and shoot with brands like Marc Jacobs, Adidas, Nike, Fenty (Rihanna), Hugo Boss, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and other lovely designers as well as magazines worldwide. I dream of being a part of fashion shows and networking with models and industry professionals in the modeling industry.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To me, being your own kind of beautiful is believing in yourself and knowing you are beautiful inside and out. Knowing that you do not have to fit to anyone’s standard of beauty because beauty comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes. I think true beauty comes from within and knowing to let your inner and outer light shine.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is a mix of high fashion with a hint of comfort. I love wearing leggings with high heels and an oversized jacket with a crop top, for example. Being fashionable while comfortable is huge for me because it matches my personality…I am fierce with a huge sense of being humble and down to earth .
Who or what inspires you?
I am truly inspired by people who have followed their dreams and did/do what makes/made them the happiest. I admire those who, even when odds were against them, never gave up on their dream and persevered. I think this every day and even though we all have bad days and doubt ourselves from time to time, I always had a small whisper in my ear at night before going to bed saying ‘’never give up…keep going’’.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
I would advise them to have thick skin because this industry is full of rejections and this will make you feel like giving up. This is something I have seen with models as well as with myself before because they were rejected by agencies, brands, castings or photographers. The modeling industry takes a lot of hard work, patience, learning, and building. I would advise models to never give up and keep going at it no matter how long it takes. They will make it as long as they keep the ‘’hustle’’ attitude. This is something I truly believe and will never stop believing .
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
One obstacle was the constant rejection of agencies and castings. This was hard for me at the beginning of my modeling career because I thought maybe I couldn’t do this. Maybe I am not good enough or don’t have what it takes. This obstacle changed me because it allowed me to have thick skin and know that I AM worth it, I AM strong, and I CAN do this! It has shaped me to know that if I am rejected for something, it does not mean that I am not a great model, rather this gig is not for me at this time and something spectacular will come my way. By thinking this way, I know I will never give up on my dream for the rest of my life.
Another obstacle was the constant comments of friends telling me I was too old to model in the beginning of my career. This was hard for me to hear because it made me feel like I had no chance in this industry at my age. This was a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to learn that you can model at any age and to work even harder to fulfill my dream. Also, it shaped me to live an even more healthier lifestyle (gym 4 times a week – I love the gym anyways, taking my vitamins, taking extra care of my skin, and eating clean). Now, I am happy and the healthiest I have been in all my life .
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
I think the thing that makes me beautiful is my ambition. I am a very ambitious person and this relates to striving for what you always wanted. I always push people to do what they have always wanted to do and this, I think, makes me not only beautiful, but highly supportive.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I feel a lot of confidence hindering comes from what people say or the comparison of yourself to other people. I would say do not listen to what others say or compare yourself to others. Look in the mirror at how beautiful you are and own that! Beauty comes from within and in all forms, not from other peoples’ opinions or how they look. Once you realize this, your confidence will sky rocket. I promise you!!!
