Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add)

I am from the city of Philadelphia, PA.  I am 18 years young and would describe myself as a health nun who loves to bake. I love trying new things, and am not afraid to shoot my shot.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Modeling has always been a big passion of mine. Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamed of walking down a runway one day. My whole life I allowed others to make me insecure of my hight; I wanted to be short and “cute” like many of the women I know. However, as I got older I began loving my height; I saw my long legs as “sexy”. I finally realized that rather than hating myself for what was naturally given to me, I should learn to love that aspect about myself. I realized that in such a field as modeling, height and long legs are praised! This is when I truly decided I want to take my chance with modeling, and devote my efforts to it.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to build my career in modeling, so that one day the name “Anna Ostrovsky” will be known worldwide!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful, in my opinion, is beauty in uniqueness rather than the typical standard of beauty. At the end of the day, the more rare a diamond, the more valuable is. Rather than striving to have someone else’s beauty, look deep inside yourself and harvest your own natural beauty. If we are to compare ourselves to others, and change our looks to look like others, we are only de-valuing ourselves.

How would you describe your fashion style?

This is a tough one. My fashion style has a very, very wide range. I typically like to dress more classy: mature and feminine. I enjoy very bright colors paired with neutrals such as black or white.

Who or what inspires you?

I have many inspirations, but I would have to say my biggest one is myself. I constantly picture myself; An image of myself after I’ve completed all of my goals and achieved optimal success. Nothing inspires me more than that. I don’t want to compare myself to anyone else’s success or goals. I want to compare myself now to the image of myself having accomplished all of those things, and nothing inspires me more than that.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

I do not have much advice to give, as I am new to modeling myself. However, I do have one thing to say; Never give up! The only way to succeed is to fall down 9 times, but stand up 10.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Definitely family struggles and hardships have shaped me into a much stronger person. I am not easily broken down, and I work hard to achieve my goals. I no longer allow problems to tear me down and stop my progress. I know if I don’t work hard towards my own future, no one else will.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I believe my uniqueness makes me beautiful.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

To anyone struggling with confidence, make a list of your biggest insecurities. Now make a list of people you really admire, or some famous celebrities. Now take that list of insecurities and you will be really surprised to see that many celebrities or icons have those same flaws! The flaws we see on ourselves are so amplified in our minds. So many people have the same flaws, yet you barley notice it on them. This is because we are our harshest judge.
