*Hello, my name is Destiny K. and I am 20 years old. I live in a small town called Frankenmuth Michigan that is well known for its Bavarian-style architecture.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
* I have been modeling for about 6 months with a local modeling agency here in Michigan, while also doing some side work with photographers in Detroit.
What is your biggest dream?
*My biggest dream is to become a well known model that travels the world while also becoming a role model for the younger generation.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
*Being your own kind of beautiful to me means being your true self everyday as well as loving yourself along the way.
How would you describe your fashion style?
*I would describe my fashion style as unique. I like to switch it up on the daily just so I can keep it fresh and interesting. It really depends on what kind of vibe I am feeling that day or night.
Who or what inspires you?
*My grandma really inspired me, she was always fashion forward and encouraged me to be the same way. Sadly she passed away two years ago due to a health complication. I like to think that she would be proud of me for not only the person I have become but as well as the person I continue to grow into.
What have been your greatest accomplishments?
*My greatest accomplishment would have to be graduating high school, I know it doesn't sound like very much but it was for me. Half way through my senior year of high school I lost both of my parent due to an unfortunate event, this lead me to fall into depression causing my grades to slip. It was very difficult seeing how everyone else had their parents through the big stages of high school such as prom and graduation, while I had no one. I graduated high school as well as becoming a state certified CNA and continue to further my college education.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
* I had lost both of my parents and my grandmother in a span of 3 months when I was only 17 years old. I have lost a lot in life, but I don't let those things define who I am. I have become a stronger person because of those losses as well as educating others about domestic abuse and how to deal with it along with growing from it.
What makes you beautiful?
*I think the thing that makes me beautiful would be my heart and my passion to help others.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
*I want to say I know what your feeling or what you're going through, but the truth is I don't. I say that because no one is the same and neither are their experiences. I have struggled with confidence all my life and I'll be honest with you it never fully goes away, but how you handle it is the key. BE YOU! and remember that YOU are your own kind of BEAUTIFUL. You are never alone.
