Tell us about yourself

My name is Leah and I currently live in Kansas. I am a barista, blogger, and model. I love exploring different coffee shops around America, thrifting, and attending art shows.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I've done several photoshoots, walked at local events, and have been published.

What is your biggest dream?

I want to be in an advertisement for Target! It is my favorite store and every time I go, I study the photos around the store. Additionally, I hope to be a working talent in a large city.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To have the confidence to empower women and encourage them to be the best that they can be.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Simple but easily glammed up. My go-to outfit is dark or black jeans, a black or blue shirt, and a statement piece. I love faux furs and jackets.

Who or what inspires you?

I find my inspiration from other fellow humans. A short conversation with another model, agent, or casting director and really encourage me to keep pursuing the entertainment industry.

What have been your greatest accomplishments?

My greatest accomplishment is overcoming being a victim of bullying. I've dealt with my fair share of mean girls over the years. It's not always easy, but I try to respond by not continuing the cycle of hurting others. My hope is that I can be a light to everyone that I come in contact with.

Do you have any special talents?

I trained and showed dogs in 4-H growing up. I am a trained violinist, vocalist, and know-how to wood carve

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I have dyslexia for me, numbers, letters, and comprehension is difficult for me. Some days I have a difficult time understanding direction from photographers. I've learned that it's necessary to be upfront with those that I'm working with from the beginning of the audition, project, etc.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My desire to be kind to others.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

Comparison is the thief of joy. It can be easy to fall into the comparison trap. I’d encourage you to go to the mirror, and tell yourself out loud “Dang I look good!” followed by something you like about yourself.  Do this often. It can feel silly at first, but this technique has helped drastically with my self confidence.
