Tell us about yourself.
I am from Long Island, New York however I grew up in amityville throughout my school years and currently 20 years old. I am currently working on my public health degree attending Monroe College.
What is your modeling experience?
I started as a self taught model during the beginning of the pandemic. I have always felt super awkward behind a camera and growing up I was called “muñeca/modela” from spanish to english it means “doll/model.” I wanted to try something new and truly challenge myself so I started by doing my research on how to start modeling in which I decided to do things on my own so I started becoming a brand ambassador for different companies and it was up until I participated in my first test shoot (M.A.P.S) in New York City that I received the experience I wanted. I remember loving the glamour from the hair to the makeup and to the crazy outfit changes and that is when I knew I wanted to do modeling for sure!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to reach God’s purpose in life, to become a leader and a tool that God can use. I want God to be in the center of my career both modeling and academically as well as my family and friends.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
To be your own kind of beautiful is to embrace your scars from a physical to emotional aspect. Being happy in your own skin and not letting other people’s words as well as our own negative insecurities, define us.
How would you describe your fashion style?
My fashion style is definitely bipolar! One day I want to get pretty with heels, dress, and makeup to go out and then I have my days where I want to wear baggy sweatpants, sweaters, and hoodies to the point where I am unrecognizable! However, typically I am a jeans girl with a nice top and sneakers. When it comes to my shoots I can pull off any look from looking like a child to a mature woman.
Who or what inspires you?
My family inspires me the most. My father worked his way from the bottom to the top in order to accomplish opening 3 running businesses. My sisters and mother inspire me to push and strive harder because my family and I went through a lot growing up starting from the divorce of my parents. My sisters and I went through our own seasons during the separation however it caused me as an individual to become stronger and independent for myself and my future. Lastly, God’s grace inspires me everyday because everytime I have my doubts, he reminds me that he has me in the palm of his hand.
What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?
My advice to someone who is just starting modeling is to not walk in fear. Maybe you will hear many no’s but all those no’s build your character to the top and bigger and better things. Do not let anyone tell you that you can’t or won’t, let the negativity in one ear and out the other! Lastly, apply to agencies, make those connections with local photographers and build an amazing portfolio.
Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.
Some obstacles I have overcome in my life is the separation of my parents. I went through a season of many questions, doubts, and fears. After my parent’s divorce I was in a season of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. I did not want to meet people just to be alone to the point where I took many wrong turns into unhealthy relationships, drugs, and alcohol. I have beaten many trials and continue to fight because oddly enough the suffering has shaped my character and wisdom. I consider myself to be very mature for my age because I have witnessed a lot growing up from violence to abuse whether it was in my environment or upon others. However, I am a firm believer that God is going to use my life experiences in order to help others.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
What makes me beautiful is my hunger to succeed. I consider myself to be very determined because my family and I have been through alot and I know there is a purpose. I was in many low seasons and what makes me beautiful is that today I want to make something out of myself in order to give back because I need to be needed somewhere.
What would you tell another guy/girl your age who is struggling with their confidence?
I would tell the person struggling with their confidence that there is power in the mind and our lips. We are the CEO’s of our own lives and we have the power to manifest positivity in our lives. Cut the negative ties whether they are thoughts or individuals. You have to speak life because it is important for our mental health and it all starts on the inside rather than the outside.
