My name is Curtis Malone Jr, but I go by Curtis James. I am 21 years old, born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. I eventually moved to Arizona back in 2017 for a year. I currently live in Houston, Texas now. Some things about me: I like writing music, listening to music, hanging out with friends, dressing up, and looking nice.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

I have yet to encounter a professional modeling experience, but I had the pleasure of working with local photographers. During my younger days I was never photogenic, but as I got older and gained more confidence, I became more comfortable in front of the camera and posing.

What is your biggest dream?

One of my biggest dreams is to become a commercial model for multiple brands around the world.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

I believe that you must love yourself no matter what your appearance is and always stay true to yourself.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I would describe my fashion style as extraordinary, laid back, street wear, and the uniqueness of who I am.

Who or what inspires you?

My inspiration comes from multiple music artists, my family, and friends. They inspire me to open my eyes and try new things even if the challenges are difficult.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

My advice would be to stay focused, do your homework/research, and make sure if this is what you want to do, then learn the craft and waste no time. Most importantly have fun while doing it because nothing lasts forever.

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

Throughout my life I have been through a lot of ups and downs. Being through multiple situations where I didn't know where I would lay my head at night, money problems, and fighting depression. Becoming a model is something I never saw myself doing. It’s opened up multiple opportunities for me to change my life.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

My creativeness when it comes to my style and music, the determination to work hard, my communication skills along with my good sense of humor /personality.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

One thing I would quote by Les Brown is, “It’s possible”. Surround yourself with positive energy and good vibes that bring out a better version of you. Put God first, stay motivated, and always remember life is a marathon not a race so go at your own pace.
