Tell us about yourself (where are you from, age, whatever you want to add).

My name is Emily Thomas. I am a 22 year old girl living in Buffalo, NY. I work a full time job as a Radiologic Technologist, and part time dance teacher. I also am a performer and go-go dancer!

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Most of my modeling experience comes from dancing. I love to showcase the beauty and art of dance in a photo. It is a true representation of me! I have worked with local Buffalo photographers. My favorite shoots were taken in the water! I am new to the modeling world and can’t wait to grow in the industry.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to live the best life I can live with family, friends, work, and to have true stability. I truly believe happiness is easy in life. When you love what you have, you have everything you need. My ultimate dream is to be the happiest me in life, no matter what I go after or what I’m given.

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To me, being your own kind of beautiful means finding comfort and love within yourself. If you don’t love yourself, who else will? It is important to accept yourself for who you are, and reach your own expectations- not others.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I am a total girly girl. Having a good outfit for the day/night sets the mood for that time. Although pink is my favorite color, black is my favorite to wear as it goes with everything and is a total slimming and appealing look! You can never go wrong! Via work day you will find me in scrubs!

Who or what inspires you?

I have a very special friend who I met just a short few years ago through teaching. The moment I met her I knew she was my person. This was because she has goals and goes after her dreams. She inspires you to do the same. She believes we can all find our own happiness with no harm to others. She thinks of everyone else before she thinks of herself. She has a different kind of heart than most. She is someone I look up to immensely and aspire to be.

What is your advice to someone who is just getting started with modeling?

Coming from someone who is only at the beginning, my advice is to shoot for the stars! It might sound unrealistic and something you cannot achieve, but you so can! Always put your foot in the door. Reach out and take the risk. The worst anyone could say is no! Have confidence in yourself!

Describe some obstacles you have overcome in your life and how that has changed or shaped you.

I’ve lost many people in my life. This being friendships, relationships, etc. Losing people can make you feel not worthy or not good enough. Something I’ve learned in life is that no matter how many people pass by, I always get by on my own. Being the social butterfly I am, I love the having the people along for the ride, and the support, but you are enough on your own. You have to trust yourself and know that you are capable of the largest dreams.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

I think my personality is what makes me beautiful. More times than not, I get told, “you’re always so happy!” I am a high energy, positive person always lighting up any room. I will always say that life is too short to be miserable. There is ALWAYS something to be happy for. You woke up this morning and you can tackle the day. Uplifting energy is radiating, and the world will appreciate you for it!

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence

Self love will be your first love. It is possible for anyone to achieve. Don’t compare yourself to the celebrities, people on social media, or any unrealistic stereotype. People love a genuine soul and the right ones will always love you for who you are. This was one thing that took me a while to learn because I care so much about what others think. The older I get, the more I realize life isn’t a competition. You are always enough!
