Tell us about yourself.

My name is Alma S. and I'm currently 18 years old. I'm from Chicago, IL but I'm Filipino and I have two other siblings. I love to sing, play volleyball, and spend time with friends. I'm trying to figure out what I'm capable of doing as a person and how to achieve that.

What is your biggest dream?

I've always wanted to be a model and to be able to travel everywhere and to experience new things! I've always wanted to be in runways, magazine covers, and to make it big in the world!

What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?

To be your own kind of beautiful is to achieve satisfaction in yourself and not for anyone else. Be beautiful for you and you only and everyone else will see that once you see it for yourself.

Tell us about your modeling experience.

Growing up, I've always wanted to model. I've gotten compliments encouraging my dream telling me that I should model one day. In high school, I thought that I would have more of an opportunity because I've met people who are aspiring photographers too and wanted to expand their portfolios. I've only worked with a few people doing fun photoshoots and trying out new things for their projects and portfolios as well as mine! I'm glad that HN Models gave me this opportunity to expand my horizons!

What is your dream brand to model for?

I've always wanted to model for H&M and Tommy Hilfiger!

How would you describe your fashion style?

My style is definitely simple and casual and I love pairing my outfits with heeled ankle boots!

How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?

It's definitely a priority. It's good to be confident of aware of who you are, especially since it's your life that you're living for. Even if you don't have self-awareness and great confidence, it's always a process to go through to find out who you are and it's definitely a journey.

What makes you beautiful/handsome?

Being able to be confident in myself and who I am as a person makes me beautiful. I believe it's a process to realizing that you're a beautiful/handsome person and that everyone has their own traits and aspects that make them beautiful/handsome. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.

What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?

I would help them. I'd figure out why they are struggling in the first place and make sure that they understand why. Everyone has their own flaws even if people don't realize it. Not everyone is perfect and it's important to realize that you can be perfect in your own way.
