Tell us about yourself
My name is Sedricka Morris. I am a 21 year old Florida baby born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. I am a junior currently enrolled at Florida State University majoring in Retail Entrepreneurship. I am currently minoring in General Business as well. I uncovered my drawing talent at the age of 3 so, I have been drawing since then, it's one of my major hobbies that I like to conduct myself with in my alone time. I also like to sew. I am a self-taught hand sewer who likes to customize original items into new items (ex.turn a pair of jeans into skirt). I am currently trying to improve my skills in an actual sewing machine. I am the part-time Sales Leader at EXPRESS Factory Outlet located in the Governors Square mall here in Tallahassee, Florida so, if you're ever in need of fashion assistance, no matter the occasion, it'll be my pleasure to style you up!
What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to establish a career as a fashion model and an entrepreneur with my own branded apparel for both genders of all ages, as well as maintaining my own fashion magazine. Oh, and to model side by side with Naomi Campbell!!
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Being your own kind of beautiful means, “BE YOU”. It’s having the confidence in yourself and knowing that THAT is good enough that YOU’RE good enough. Love is the most natural feeling in the world and SELF love is the BEST love.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
My interest for modeling came about when I was just 4 years old, when I did a fashion show with my church, the attention and having the spotlight was an awesome experience for me that I wanted to endure more of that experience. When I was 13 I auditioned with “Audition America” when they came to Tallahassee Mall, I did my very first photoshoot with them. And I did not receive any training then and was voted the best runway. My freshman year of college, I came in contact with a director of the Barbizon Modeling Program stationed in my hometown who invited me to join the program so, I did a few modeling classes with them. Within those few classes I learned how to apply makeup, runway poses, and took an Etiquette course. A year after I began working with my photographer, Larry Patrick Oates @patrickoatesphotography, on improving my skills as a model. I have been working with him ever since and throughout our duration of working together, we have worked on runway walks, stances, poses, and organized photo shoots.
What is your dream brand to model for?
I would absolutely LOVE to model for CALVIN KLEIN & GUCCI! I would also love to add some ideas to their fashion line.
Describe your fashion style.
My style is very spontaneous yet very elegant. I have a passion for putting colors and patterns together in ways that some may not think about. I like to be different and I like to show that I’m not afraid to be different. I have a prideful fashion style, my style expresses how prideful I am of myself because I love who I am : )
How important is self awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
Being aware of oneself and having the confidence to say and believe that you know who you are and that you know what you’re capable is very important in this day of age. You can’t expect others to have confidence in you if you don’t have confidence in yourself. Know yourself or nobody will.
