Victoria K.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Victoria, but my friends call me Vicki and my family calls me Vick, VPK, and Kikki. I am 23 years old and graduating from Rutgers University this year with a Theatre Major and three Minors in Music, Spanish, and Japanese. I also sing and am studying costume design and voice acting.
What is your biggest dream?
To find what fulfills me and brings both me and others happiness in the most creative and the most unique of ways. I want to achieve this by pursuing modeling, acting (stage/film/voice), singing, and costume design.
What does it mean to be your own kind of beautiful?
Ever-changing, ever-evolving, and ever-lasting, but always free of social convention and formed through a creative process.
Tell us about your modeling experience.
I am a complete amateur aside from one photoshoot, joining the Rutgers Modeling Team (F.A.C.E), and my years of posing/taking pictures with my best friend since childhood.
What is your dream brand to model for?
I have no specific brand in mind, but I want to model for brands that promote beauty in all its shapes, sizes, and colors.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Eclectic. It changes every day. One day I’m out in leggings and a plain white tank top, others I’m in all sportswear or a chic outfit. And some days I have my orange lipstick on with a pair of heels while carrying either my iridescent or my see-through backpack.
How important is self-awareness and confidence to you in your everyday life?
They are absolutely essential.
What makes you beautiful/handsome?
Physically, my eyes and my curves. But overall I believe I am beautiful because of my intellect, my ability to wear a variety of unique and individual styles, my creativity, and my desire/ability to find beauty in expected places or ways.
But most importantly, I am beautiful because I know I am beautiful. I believe in myself and have confidence in who I am.
What would you say to another girl/guy your age who is struggling with their confidence?
The truth is, the one who defines your confidence is you. Don’t beat yourself up. Find the illogicality in every insult that has ever been thrown at you. Surround yourself with people who raise you up. And do what makes you feel confident and proud.
